The AIM-7P is an improved AIM-7M. The AIM-7P production started in the late-80s, or are conversion from existing AIM-7M stockpiles. It features improved guidance electronics and on-board computer. It has a new radar fuze, and features an uplink to the missile autopilot for mid-course guidance updates. The AIM-7P improves Sparrow performance especially against small and/or low-flying targets.
